RevaHealth.com’s monthly check-up of UK dentistry finds there is also increasing interest in top dollar treatments such as dental implants, along with big brand names like Lumineers and Invisalign, showing that the UK dentistry industry may finally be heading out of recession along with the rest of the British economy.

Interest in teeth whitening grew by a healthy 16.2% when compared with January, while veneers were 42.1% more popular. Putting both of these in the shade though was the explosive growth in interest in Lumineers, a newer thinner kind of veneer that saw their share of the month’s dental enquiries rocket by 95.3%.

The top five most popular dental treatments in the UK during February 2010 were:

Treatment % Of Enquiries
Teeth Whitening 16.8%
Veneers 15.0%
Dental Implants 12.1%
Lumineers 10.3%
Invisalign 7.5%

Commenting on the February’s trends Caelen King, CEO of RevaHealth.com said “After putting off cosmetic dental treatments during the recession, people in the UK finally feel it is OK to spend a bit extra on making their teeth look special again. By sticking to some of the more affordable cosmetic dental treatments such as teeth whitening and veneers they are able to mimic their Hollywood idols without breaking the bank.”
